Chemical Peels

Reveal Brighter, Clearer, More Radiant Skin

Chemical peels are one of the most effective treatments for addressing pigmentation, acne, texture irregularities, and visible signs of aging. By removing damaged outer layers of skin and stimulating cellular turnover, chemical peels reveal fresher, healthier skin underneath while promoting long-term improvements in tone, clarity, and radiance.

At Balanced Aesthetics & Wellness, we use the VI Peel system, —a medical-grade peel designed to treat a wide range of skin concerns with minimal downtime and maximum results. Whether you’re dealing with sun damage, melasma, acne scarring, fine lines, or uneven texture, VI Peel offers a customizable solution that works for most skin types and tones.

How VI Peel Works

VI Peel uses a blend of powerful ingredients including trichloroacetic acid (TCA), salicylic acid, retinoic acid, phenol, and vitamin C to exfoliate the skin, stimulate collagen production, and address pigmentation at multiple levels. The treatment is applied in-office and takes about 20-30 minutes from start to finish.

After application, the peel continues to work over the next several days as your skin naturally sheds the damaged outer layers. You’ll experience visible peeling, typically starting around day 3 and lasting through day 7, revealing smoother, clearer, more even-toned skin underneath.

VI Peel is effective for acne and acne scarring, hyperpigmentation and melasma, sun damage and age spots, fine lines and early wrinkles, uneven texture and enlarged pores, and dull or tired-looking skin. The peel can be customized in strength and formulation based on your skin type, concerns, and tolerance for downtime.

Customized Peel Planning

Every VI Peel treatment is personalized based on your skin type, specific concerns, and how much downtime you can accommodate. We’ll assess your skin condition and recommend the right peel strength and post-care regimen to maximize results while minimizing irritation.

Chemical Peel FAQs

What does the peeling process look like?

Peeling typically begins around day 3 and lasts 3-5 days. Your skin will shed in sheets or flakes, similar to a sunburn. It’s important not to pick or pull at peeling skin, let it shed naturally to avoid scarring or irritation. We provide detailed aftercare instructions to support the process.

Is there downtime with VI Peel?

Yes. You’ll experience visible peeling for about a week, and your skin may appear red or slightly swollen immediately after treatment. Many patients also notice a temporary orange or bronzed tint to the skin right after the peel is applied, which typically looks much better by the next day. Most patients can return to work and normal activities, but you’ll need to avoid makeup during the peeling phase and protect your skin carefully from sun exposure.

How many peels will I need?

While many patients notice improvement after just one VI Peel, we typically recommend a series of 3 treatments spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart for the best results, especially for concerns like pigmentation, acne scarring, or sun damage. After completing a series, maintenance peels can be done every 4 to 6 months depending on your skin goals and the level of correction you want to maintain.

Can VI Peel be used on all skin types?

Yes. VI Peel is formulated to be safe and effective for all skin types and tones, including darker skin that may be prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. We’ll customize the treatment and aftercare protocol to ensure optimal results for your specific skin.
